Q1 What is the PDO thread ?
A: Polydioxanone (we call it PDO) is used for biomedical applications, particularly in cardiothoracic surgery because it is fully absorbed by hydrolysis within 4 to 6 months & doesn't create any scar tissue. The foreign body stimulates collagen synthesis and the skin structure created will hold for another 12 to 15 months.
PDO Lifting Thread Lift is the latest and revolutionary treatment for skin tightening and lifting as well as V-shaping the face. These threads are made of PDO (polydioxanone) material which is similar to the threads used in surgical stitches.
Q2 How does it work?
A: In medical terms "Selective Inflammatory Response", it is the principle behind a lot of aesthetic procedures (such as Fractional Laser, Chemical Peels & Micro Needling). Our skin is very good at repairing itself, and by inserting LIFT HREADS we make it “heal” itself by creating new collagen, naturally!
YOUR SKIN GENTLY REACTS TO THE INSERTED THREADS
Yes, PDO is fully absorbable, but that doesn’t mean your skin won’t react to it. During the 4 to 6 months needed to fully absorb the PDO suture, your skin is also repairing itself around it. It’s "controlled healing" happening underneath the skin!
Q3 Is lift thread hard to process ?
A: No, it is very simple! NO CUTS OR INCISIONS. PURELY INJECTIONS!
The FIONA Threads are needles that are pre-loaded with a PDO thread. Simply insert the whole needle in the interstitial tissue at sub dermal level, parallel to the surface of the skin, and pull the needle out. The PDO thread remains under the skin. That’s enough!
Q4 Which areas can be treated with the pdo threads?
A: Most popular treatment areas are the brows, cheeks (midface), jowls, and the upper neck. However, Thread Lift can be performed virtually anywhere on the body, such as to lift loose skin on the upper arms, stomach, thighs and around the knees.
Q5 Facila fillers and lift thread- what is the right one for you?
A: Both Fillers and Lift Thread compliment each other. The filler helps to bring up the nasolabial fold and fill in any hollow spaces. Whereas, the Lift Thread does an amazing job in the “Jowl” area by pulling up any lines that fillers are not able to get to.
Q6 How long will the thread lift last?
A: Full results are seen within 3 weeks following the procedure and generally last for one year for PDO threads , 18 months for PCL thread and 30 months for PLLA threads.
Q7 Besides lift, what other changes will be?
Of course. Thread Lift provides practitioners with a wide range of treatment options to lift and tighten skin anywhere on the face and body and also improve acne scars and wrinkles. The embedded PCL and PLLA threads decompose long lasting collagen and elastin in the treated area.
Q8 Is there any downtime?
A: Depending on how many threads were used and the area treated there will be swelling, with the worst in 2-3 days time, which settles by the end of the week.
